Montreal-based rapper Chung drops her debut EP 'Chung Shui.' The EP is produced by her longtime producer/collaborator Cotola.
The title track 'Chung Shui' featuring dancehall singer King Shadrock is easily our favorite joint from the EP, The song sits in the pocket and meshes Hip Hop and Reggae flawlessly.
Chung effortlessly commands attention with every bar, and the runner-ups for this EP are 'Back and I'm Bad' and '7030.'
For feedback, I'd say study tracks like J.I.D & Money Makin Nique 'Green Onions' (Feat Earthgang) and The Lady Of Rage 'Afro Puffs' both of which really home in on staying in the pocket of the track. Her vocal tone and cadence are on point, with some refinements Chung could be a force to reckon with in Hip Hop.
