'Trust Nobody' is Ama Lou's first single from her upcoming untitled project, produced by Shlohmo & D33J, and the video is self-directed by Ama Lou.

The stripped-down production allows Ama Lou to showcase her vocals, allowing the listeners to feel every word she sings. Ama Lou is a classically trained musician who writes about love beyond her years, with a unique vocal tone that's sultry and yet husky as well.

'If you find out, then please keep it to yourself
I can't find no peace when there's someone else in here
See, I don't trust nobody
You see I say when I bleed, but you don't care 'bout my health, oh no
This ain't the shit that I need when I plan to move stealth
See why I don't trust nobody?'

During Lockdown, the singer sat down with Vogue to talk about her journey.

'I wake up at 5 a.m. every day, go to the backroom in my home, have study boards on the wall where I've pinned ideas for songs, and listen to music and audiobooks.'

Ama Lou started making noise in the music industry in 2016 with her breakout anthem 'TBC,' followed by 'Not always,' 'Said it already,' and 'Lost my home.'

In 2018 she dropped her first project, a three-track tape titled 'DDD,' and then released her second project in 2019 titled 'Ama, Who?,' a five-track release that featured Amas stand-out track' Northside.'

'Northside' was the first track we heard from Ama Lou, and we instantly fell in love with the artist and the feel-good vibe. Directed by Ama Lou's older sister and collaborator, Mahalia John is a reminder and celebration of the town she calls home, no matter how far she travels.
